Supernatural Title Sequence.

I have really been getting interested in motion graphics and different forms of animation lately and felt this was worth mentioning. Every season on Supernatural the title changes. After the episode introduction the series name pounds across the screen, and lasts no longer than 5-10 seconds. I just thought it was a good example of how motion graphics can be used in a very short time to hit an audience hard.
Season one~ thunder strikes and Supernatural is formed in the lighting.
Season two~ flames spread and Supernatural appears from the flames
Season three~ smoke and mist flutters across the screen and Supernatural slowly appears
Season four~ screen cuts to white and you hear a scream, crows flutter across and Supernatural appears from behind the crows
Season five~ Diluted blood flows across the screen, and Supernatural appears.
I just thought that it appears more and more US shows no longer have the title sequence with the list of main characters, but instead opt for the title to just play a role in introducing the show, with the credits then running over the show at the bottom of the screen. This was just an example of how this can still be just as effective.

500 Days of Summer

I love this movie, and the cinematography has been done with alot of thought and a very specific feel is given to the movie. If you havn't seen it, I would recommend giving it a watch. What I also love about the film is the way they form the narrative, using these really simple animations to transition between the different times in the main characters relationship, they look really nice.
There is a scene aswel where they portray expectations with reality which also done really well, with another good piece of animation at the end.

Magazine Analysis

This was done for a crit early into my second year, we were asked to come up with an entertaining way to present the layout of a magazine. This a short film I made to show what I had found, but it was never actually seen, because the tutors decided we should discuss our findings instead. Anyway, here it is :)
